Privacy
The short version: your personalization lives in your own browser, we do not use tracking cookies, we do not sell data, and the AI assistant runs on Altronis's own hardware. The detail follows.
What we collect
Altronis Space has no user accounts and asks for no personal details to browse. Like any website, our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, browser type, the page requested, timestamp) for security and to understand aggregate traffic. These logs are not used to build profiles of individuals and are retained only for a limited period.
Personalization stays in your browser
When you read stories or ask the assistant questions, the site infers what topics interest you so it can reorder the feed "for you." That interest profile is stored entirely in your browser (in local storage on your device). It is not sent to us, not stored on our servers, and not linked to your identity. You can see exactly what has been inferred, and erase it at any time, from the news page under "What I know about you." Clearing your browser data also removes it.
The AI assistant
The on-page assistant (the wisp) runs on a language model hosted on Altronis's own infrastructure, not a third-party AI service. Your messages are processed only to answer you. To tailor how it explains things, a short, anonymous summary of your inferred interests may be sent with your question; it is used for that reply and not retained afterwards. Your conversations are not sold, and are not used to train external models.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not embed third-party analytics or ad networks. The only data kept on your device is the local personalization described above, which stays on your device.
Service providers
The site is hosted on Google Cloud Run and served through Cloudflare, which process requests purely as infrastructure. We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.
Your choices
Reset your personalization any time from the news page, or clear your browser's local storage for this site. Because we hold no account and no personal profile on our side, there is nothing about you on our servers to delete beyond the transient request logs above.
